Outer Banks Area Features

H20BX Waterpark

The Outer Banks region is now home to H2OBX, the most innovatively designed waterpark in the nation. Located on the mainland in Powells Point, North Carolina (north of the Wright Memorial Bridge), the 80-acre property is set to feature 30 cutting-edge waterslides and other attractions to exhilarate thrill-seekers and provide a dream destination for the whole family!

The combined expertise of H2OBX developers Ken Ellis, Arthur Berry III, Tim Gantz, and Jeff Malarney has resulted in a world-class waterpark. Director of Marketing Andrew Baird says, “We were incredibly excited for the park to open this summer. A great team is in place to help provide an unbelievable experience for our guests, and we hope to share H2OBX with everyone.”

H2OBX Waterpark combines the distinct culture and fascinating history of the Outer Banks with groundbreaking waterslides and attractions. A must-see for locals and visitors of all ages, the waterpark features tube rides, body slides, high-speed and gravity-defying slides with twists, turns and dynamic drops, kid slides, family raft rides, a lagoon, a surfing simulator, and two wave pools—one of which features dual beachfront entrances. H2OBX captures the intrigue of the Outer Banks’ rich history—swashbuckling pirates, the Wright Brothers, unpredictable Carolina storms, buried treasure, and wild horses—in a resort-like setting. Modern amenities include private cabanas with luxury guest services. Familes can relax and soak in the sun and seabreezes after braving the “Midnight Marauder,” “Paradise Plunge,” “Riptide” or any of the other epic attractions. Opportunities for entertainment extend to the whole family thanks to interactive play structures and other kid-friendly slides and attractions. Parents need not worry about safety with lifeguards on duty at all times and a First Aid Team on standby. The park also offers multiple retail and dining options—sit-down or grab-and-go— that reflect the flavor and spirit of the Outer Banks.

Another element unique to H2OBX is the policy that limits daily ticket sales to provide guests with a waterpark experience like no other. Baird reveals, “We provide guests with a comfortable, resort-like experience where they can ride, slide, splash, shop, eat and drink without feeling overly crowded or having to stand in line all day.”
Baird is excited for H2OBX Waterpark to become yet another reason for visitors to return year after year to the Outer Banks. To ensure visitors can access all the fun and adventure on the day that best fits their schedule, he suggests purchasing tickets in advance.

H2OBX Waterpark is located at 8526 Caratoke Highway and will be open through Labor Day. For hours, additional information or to purchase tickets, visit h2obxwaterpark.com.
